What is a Tandem Skydive?

Tandem Skydiving is the most popular and efficient way to experience skydiving. At Plymouth Sky Sports we treat every tandem student like they will continue to skydive. What does this mean for you? We will train you on the basics of freefall in our pre-jump class (which lasts about 25 minutes). After that, you will meet your instructor...the professional skydiver you will jump with. Your instructor will spend another 15 minutes with you before you board the aircraft. During that time, your instructor will review the information from class, and discuss any special needs you may have. Your instructor will reinforce the classroom training while fitting you to the harness you will wear on the jump. Your instructor will also provide you everything you need for the jump (i.e. jumpsuit, altimeter, goggles, etc...). Once everything is ready, you and your instructor will head to the aircraft for the climb to exit altitude (two miles or more above the earth). During the climb, your instructor will review the jump with you, and "hook up" (attach your harness to the parachute system the instructor wears). Once at altitude, you will exit the aircraft with your instructor, freefalling for a mile or more (up to one minute) until you deploy the parachute. On the 4-5 minute parachute ride back to the landing area, you will receive further instruction on how to test the parachute (to see if it is safe to land), find the airport, steer to the desired course, and assist in landing the parachute safely on target! After landing, your instructor will remove the harness and associated equipment, provide a complete debrief (which includes issuing you a logbook and certificate), and answer any questions you may have. If you purchased the video and/or pictures, you will be able to take them home with you shortly after your debrief. Very few skydiving centers allow tandem students to deploy the parachute and assist in the flight and landing of the parachute. Plymouth Sky Sports is the only skydiving center in Indiana that trains you how (and when) to deploy the parachute and how to fly it!

Plymouth Sky Sports also has the best videographers in the industry. We offer the best quality skydiving video quality and selection available anywhere!
